Ingredients for making the best Dalia Salad 

  • Cooking oil of your choice (here I have taken refined oil)
  • Flaxseeds 2 to 3 small  tablespoons
  • White Til or Black Til of your choice
  • Sprouts such as Chickpeas also known as Kaale Chane in Hindi
  • Small finely chopped carrots, grated ginger
  • Boiled corn seeds
  • Seasonal vegetables (optional)
  • Chopped green and yellow capsicum
  • 1/4 cup of paneer
  • Finely chopped Kasturi Haldi
  • Chilli flakes for a spicy flavor
  • 1/4 cup beetroots
  • 1 cup of Dalia(Broken Wheat/Cracked Wheat)
  • Finely grated onions, cucumbers, tomatoes 
  • Fresh, boiled leaves of cabbage 
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Kaali Mirch powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Himalayan Pink Salt (as needed)
  •  Mint leaves and coriander leaves 
  • Lemon juice
  • Jeera powder
  • 1 pinch of black salt

Method of Preparation

For Dalia / Broken wheat / Cracked wheat

  • Heat up the wok in a high flame and add 1/2 tablespoon of desi ghee.
  • Add 1 cup of wet Dalia (Broeken/Cracked wheat) and roast it slowly in the medium flame.
  • Add 2.5 cups of water and cook until it boils completely well!
  • Put a lid on the wok and let it cook on a medium flame for 15 minutes.
  • After that, let it dry a bit and let all the water aside in the wok.
  • Now your Dalia is completely ready to be used for making delicious recipes.
  • You can store it in an airtight container and use it whenever you are making new recipes in the future.
  • In case, you have to make it daily make sure you are making it completely fresh to be more nutritious.

For Dalia / Broken wheat / Cracked wheat Salad 

  • Heat up a wok and add 1/2 tablespoon of any cooking oil of your choice be it olive oil, refined oil, mustard oil, or coconut oil.
  • After that, add 3 to 4 tablespoons of flax seeds, white til, or black til whichever you have at your home. Cook well till a crackling sound is heard from the flame.
  • Now, add the sprouts in which you have the boiled Chickpeas or Kaale Chane. Saute it well and remember to keep the mixture bit crunchy in nature.
  • Add the finely chopped carrots, grated ginger to the sauteed mixture to give a nutritional value.
  • You can even add the boiled corn seeds into the sauteed mixture for a crunchy flavor.
  • You can even go for any seasonal vegetables if your choice triggers up to do so. Doing this will be a good healthy option for you and your family's health.
  • Add the finely chopped green and yellow capsicums to the mixture and cook well for a few minutes,
  • Now add some small cubes of paneer, raw Kastoori Haldi (being crushed in nature) to the mixture, and saute it well!
  • Add chili flakes to enhance the spicy attribute to the diet.
  • Segregate a small corner in the wok itself and add some amount of beetroots and saute for a few minutes. Remember while doing this don't let it mix with the salad mixture being made in the wok. 
  • Now dish out all the sprouts and beetroots plus the salad mixtures from the wok.
  • After doing this, mix 1 cup of Dalia along with the sauteed sprouts and vegetables. Mix all the ingredients well in place.
  • To give it an enjoyable salad look, add grated onions, cucumber pieces, tomatoes, and boiled cabbage leaves. Remember all the vegetables to be finely chopped to give a good salad look.
  • Add 1/2 tablespoon of Kaali Mirch Powder, Himalayan Pink Salt ( add as per your preferences and requirements).
  • You can even add a few herbs for dressing be it the popular Mint leaves also known as Pudina in Hindi, Dhania leaves (Coriander) for dressing.
  • Squeeze an entire lemon juice for giving it a lip-smacking taste of Chaat!
  • Last but not the least, add jeera powder, 1 pinch of black salt, and mix the entire salad products well so that all the ingredients are overlapping one another.
  • Garnish and serve the salad in a tiffin box or your favorite cutlery set available in your kitchen.

  • Always take the wet and freshly prepared Dalia. It would always be best that you prepare a new Dalia every day. If you are an office goer and in a hurry, remember to store it well in a good airtight container in the fridge.
